Miyuki
Delica® Beads (also known as Japanese Cylinder Beads) are the bead
of choice for closely worked brick-, peyote- and square-stitched amulet bags,
purses, needlecases, hangers and the like. There is really no better bead than
this for these items.
They are predominantly available as a round bead (DB-xxxx) in Size 11 and
are also available as hex-cut (DBC-xxx). They are a very uniform bead, having
specific manufacture to give them a cylinder shape, but are not “square” in
area (dimensions are approx. 1.6 x 1.4 mm in size !).
Delica® Beads are also available in a larger size (Size 8) in
a limited colour range.
A 5-gramme bag of Size 11 Delica® beads will contain
approximately 800 - 900 beads (this obviously varies with bead finish) EXCEPT
for the metallics (“gold coated”, etc) which will contain approximately 500
– 600 beads.
As of December 2005,
there were a total of 686 colours and finishes available
in the range of round
Size 11 Delica® beads.

Miyuki released another 140+ colours and finishes in the range of round Size 11 Delica®
